Going that extra mile is is what we strive to do with our cycling communities and now we have added Cycle Ontario Approved Sponsors.
Look for this badge on a Sponsors profile to insure they are a "Cycle Ontario Approved Sponsor"
Here is what we looked for in the different catagories:
Accommodations
Have taken extra steps to offer cyclists the following services and amenities:
- Covered and secure bike storage area
- Local cycling information
- Basic bicycle repair toolset & tire pump
- Healthy, local food and beverage options if served on site
Restaurants, Cafes and Bistro
Have taken extra steps to offer cyclists the following services and amenities:
- Healthy food options on menu
- Inclusion of local foods and specialities when and where possible
- Secure daytime bike lock-up area, such as bicycle stands or posts for bike parking in most visible location possible
- Cycling information including published cycling route maps
Bike Shops
The bike shops and/or rental locations offer a variety of useful services to cycle tourists and local residents. We encourage you to stop by on your way for any parts, service, maps, rentals, friendly service and helpful local cycling knowledge.
They also offer a Roadside Service Program – within 25K of their shop they offer an emergency pick up or a roadside flat repair.
