West PerthWhere the gentle banks of the historic Thames River meets the cross-roads of Highway 23 and Highway 8, there you'll find Mitchell, a bustling town in the middle of the Municipality of West Perth.  Located only a short 15 minutes west of Stratford and in the heart of Ontario’s breadbasket, West Perth is the perfect location to take in warm country charm and the vivid splendor of nature.

Enjoy Mitchell's small town ambience.  Home to a host of shops, restaurants, and historical treasures, Mitchell is the commercial centre of West Perth.  Saunter down the Main Street and let one of our exciting restaurants serve you.

Located along the banks of the Thames River in Mitchell, the Nature Trail features over 10 kilometres of pathway, with varied levels of difficulty and accessibility.  All ages and skill levels will find enjoyment in the trail system and its fitness and photography opportunities.

The Lions Park and pavilion on the west side of the Thames River offers a quiet, leisurely place to enjoy a picnic or just take a break from driving. In the summer, you can even enjoy a refreshing swim in the outdoor pool!  The children will enjoy the playground equipment, and watching the ducks, geese and swans on the river, and our collection of birds, deer and other animals at the Children’s zoo.  Lions Park also provides access to the river above the dam, which is an excellent place for fishing, canoeing and kayaking.  In the winter, the hill at the Park is popular for tobogganing.

Play a round of golf at the picturesque Mitchell Golf and Country Club, an 18 hole course maintained in peak condition, with a great menu with something for everyone’s tastes.

Located a short five minutes from Mitchell is the small village of Dublin. Known as "Ontario's Furniture Village", Dublin is home to a host of furniture, antique and general home decor shops. Enjoy some time shopping in a peaceful, pleasant environment.

Before departing, make sure to tour the countryside and perhaps visit one of our neighbouring farms. Especially during the late summer harvest season, take in the sights of this beautiful region of rural, South-Western Ontario.

There is never a shortage of fun and relaxation once you experience the lifestyle and people of West Perth.
