Algonquin Park

There are three bicycle trails in Algonquin Park. Trails range from flat packed surfaces suitable for children and families to rugged mountain biking experiences.

Old Railway Bike Trail - 20km

The Old Railway Bike Trail is a leisurely family bicycle trail. For most of its 10-kilometre distance the trail follows the abandoned bed of the historic Ottawa, Arnprior, and Parry Sound Railway, opened in 1896 and decommissioned in 1959

The Minnesing Mountain Bike Trail is a steep, rugged mountain bike trail consisting of hilly, sometimes muddy, terrain filled with rock, roots and obstacles unsuitable for small children and unfit adults.

Byers Lake Mountain Bike Trail - 13km

A short mountain bike trail of 6.5 km (13 km round trip) and moderate degree of difficulty can also be accessed east of the Kingscote Access Point. Once on the mountain bike trail, there is an interesting 150-metre side trail that provides access to Gut Rapids, which is a narrow scenic canyon on the York River.
