Eagle Lake / South River

With many hardwood trees, the Eagle Lake / South River Circle Route provides the perfect backdrop of fall colours in September and early October.  Two routes either 30 km or 65 km.  Primarily on paved roads.

Route Details:

30 km loop

  • Starting at the South River Municipal Office on Marie Street, turn right onto Eagle Lake Road.
  • Follow Eagle Lake Road and turn right onto Riding Ranch Road.
  • Turn left onto Scarlett Road as you circle the east portion of Eagle Lake.
  • Stay to the right on Scarlett Road until you reach Eagle Lake Road.
  • Turn right and follow Eagle Lake Road back to South River.

65 km loop

  • Starting at the South River Municipal Office on Marie Street, turn right onto Eagle Lake Road.
  • Follow Eagle Lake Road and turn right onto Riding Ranch Road.
  • Turn left onto Scarlett Road as you circle the east portion of Eagle Lake.
  • Stay to the right on Scarlett Road until you reach Eagle Lake Road.
  • Turn left onto Eagle Lake Road, and then left onto Park Road.
  • Follow Park Road, past beautiful Mikisew Provincial Park.
  • Turn left onto Boundary Road, and continue onto Machar Road.
  • Turn left onto Old Muskoka Road. This road is not hard topped.
  • Turn right onto Eagle Lake Road, and follow it back to South River.
